the new way to buy, sell & seek collectibles

  • antiquated methods eliminated

We did away with those pesky commissions, buyer's premiums and other transaction costs and have introduced a WANTED category to help collectors fulfill their wish list! As if that weren't enough, all standard listings you create are completely free of charge.

    ....you're welcome.

  • create your own storefront

Create your storefront within our marketplace and manage it from a dedicated dashboard. Large inventory? Add products by CSV in batches of 500. All items are subject to review. Collectors Forum accepts ONLY quality, authentic antiquities & collectibles. We do not accept reproductions, novelties, or spurious items and may remove items inappropriate for Collectors Forum.

  • direct payments

Collectors Forum does NOT get involved with payments. All transactions are made directly between buyers and sellers. Stripe is available for credit card processing although sellers may use alternate forms of payment. Should either party prefer to use an escrow service, we can recommend reasonable, reputable services if so desired.

What is Collectors Forum?

A new business model for the collectibles market with no seller's commission or buyer's premium.

Auction houses typically deduct up to 35% of an item's hammer price from seller payouts. Due to this anticipated loss for sellers, auction prices are generally set higher than market value.

Buyers pay up to 20% in addition to the hammer price to create the contract sales price.

In any economic conditions, sellers always desire higher gains and buyers, lower prices.

Collectors Forum is a way to achieve both.

HELPFUL TIPS:
1) Always use a payment method where you have recourse i.e. credit cards or escrow.
2) Contact the seller to discuss the item you are interested in.
3) Contact us if you see any offerings out of the ordinary or suspicious. Our team will open an investigation and take any measures necessary to ensure a safe and reputable marketplace.
4) Your feedback is always appreciated. Simply contact us here.

What are the hidden costs associated with buying and/or selling on Collectors Forum?

There are no hidden costs. Buyers are not charged any commission or premium whatsoever. Sellers create their own storefront/profile within our marketplace for free. We offer them the platform to do so. That's it.

Does Collectors Forum take privacy measures for its buyers and sellers?

Yes. We believe this is an absolute necessity in today's day and age. Those reaching out for further information will do so via the CONTACT button. If users prefer to show their contact details, simply include it within the storefront description or listing details.

I'd like to see a collection type added. It that possible?

If there's a collection class you'd like to see, please contact us here.

If it seems like a good fit, we will gladly expand our catalog library in order to accommodate your needs.

How can I begin selling or place a WANTED listing?

A seller account must be created for either selling or placing a WANTED listing. After having created your storefront, please visit your seller dashboard at https://seller.collectorsforum.com. There, you will see a question mark and FAQ in the header. Please review the contents and follow the step by step guides.

Is it possible to have my store and listings created for me?

We offer white glove services that include store setup, listing creation, account management, and image refinement. Details and any images of your pieces must be provided. Please contact a specialist for customized rates here.

How are sellers paid?

Sellers may choose to use Stripe for processing credit card payments or an alternate method. Collectors Forum does not deduct any part of your gains whatsoever. If using Stripe, sellers connect their existing or newly-created Stripe account to their profile and are paid directly. Creating an account only takes a few minutes and Collectors Forum does NOT benefit from your transactions in any way. All processing fees are the seller's responsibility.

Sellers who prefer not to use Stripe can send buyers an invoice and/or payment request through their preferred method.

Buyers and sellers release Collectors Forum from any disruptions, loss and/or harm involving any financial transactions. If you have any concerns, contact the seller with any questions or ask if they will accept an escrow service.

Does Collectors Forum guarantee an item's authenticity?

No. It is the responsibility of each individual seller to provide any proof of authenticity, also known as COA. Each seller is wholly responsible for his or her own listings and accepts full responsibility. Buyers agree to release Collectors Forum from liability of any transaction as per our Terms of Service. We do our absolute best to screen dealers we are unfamiliar with and review sellers and listings. If you have concerns with any sellers or listed items, please contact us here.

Does Collectors Forum work with an escrow service?

No. We do, however, suggest using Escrow.com or Safefunds, both reputable escrow services with A+ ratings on BBB. Their transaction fees are nominal and deducted from the seller's proceeds.

Note: Collectors Forum LLC does not receive compensation of any kind from Escrow.com or Safefunds. You may use any escrow service of your choosing.

Is overseas shipping possible?

Collectors Forum is open to buyers and sellers worldwide, therefore overseas shipping is something sellers may choose to offer. Both parties should communicate clearly about the originating location and shipping destination to gather cost estimates through their preferred freight or shipping services.
